Are high A's going to be exempt from taking the final?
will everyone be able to substitute the part of the final corresponding with the last test, or is that just for the 9am class?

What exactly are you looking for as far as 'useful coweb sites' go for extra credit?

Hey, person, stop yelling at Morley in all caps, willya? That kind of thing is probably the reason he responds so little. I'm sure he will post review questions for the final, just like he has for every test.
How is it that we can't write something into the page at times? (I can't put my name on the extra credit page right now) How can I do the extra credit if i can't sign up?
Because someone deleted the '+' at the end of the page that creates the "add to the page" box. I just fixed it, but if it happens again, just fix it by using the Edit feature to add it again.
Professor Morley, Is there any way we can please find out our final grades going into the final? I think that would be very helpful as soon as possible. ThanksL!!
you know what your quiz grades are, so average them together. that's all you have to do. don't waste his time on this trivial stuff that you can figure out for yourself. what you should be asking is if we can find out our homework grade before the final because that and the project are the two unknowns.
So is the grade used to determine whether we can skip the final based purely on test average, or that plus homework and group project grade? And what is the cut-off to skip the finals?
The average of Quiz 1 was 23.8/37 (66%), and Quiz 2 was 19.76/37 (53%). According to Q1 & Q2, the class average is below 60%. Could you please post the averages for Quiz 3 and Quiz 4 so that we have some idea of where we stand in the class?

My TA sent me a message saying I was able to exempt the final...so I wouldn't assume.

Since 88.5% is the cut off for exempting the final (considering its a high A). What would that really correspond to? 95?%
Is the extra credit percentage applied to our total average BEFORE the final exam? I am wondering if the extra credit points can be added to our total average before the final (so only 4 exams, homework assignments, and computer project) so that some people who are borderline can exempt the finals.

Professor Morley, is it possible for you to spend Wednesday and Friday lectures on reviewing the materials we learned throughout the semester? It will be very helpful.

While everyone is tryin to find out their exemption status for the funal, it seems like the TAs are slackin down and need to get on the ball for this last week. Between them not showin up, not having assignments graded, and stuff like that, we dont know what the deal is for this final. You TAs need to pick it up and get your stuff together.

If we get an A on the final, will you give us an A in the class as well, no matter what our average is? I know this is random, but it seems like a fair deal. Ultimately, what matters is how much we know at the end of the course; so, if we get an A on the final, we deserve an A in the class.
No, just because you didn't work at all during the semester does no mean you deserve an A. So what if you botch the final because you are sick or something along those lines. Do you think that person deserves an F? The final is just a 3 hour portion of the entire semester so making it your final grade is ridiculous.
The final may be only a 3 hour portion of the entire semester, but I'm sure Prof. Morley is going to make the final a fair assessment of what we've learned in his class. While you may think it's ridiculous, this is a process that quite a few chemistry classes use, and that is what made me think of it in the first place.

Yeah I would REALLY like to know what happened to Brad. How do we get in contact with him and how do we find out our grades? Please tells us something else besides his e-mail because that doesn't work!
Will there be a curve at the end of the course? I'm guessing if there is then ----> 88.5% = high A. High A's are usually known to be 95%. About a 7% curve????

The west wing of 9am has already had their averages curved up to the rest of the class. They don't need a grade replacement...unless the grade replacement will be for everyone EVEN 8am. I'm not saying 8am should have grade replacement, but it wouldn't be fair to 8am if west wing of 9am has it and they don't.
i really want to know why some guy from 8 am is trying to ruin things for those poor people in 9 am who had to deal that awful fire alarm. don't you have anything better to do?

They've already had compensation for the fire alarm. Their tests were curved up to the average for the rest of 9am. Any further compensation would be superfluous.

if you have problems, go do something about it than whining about it. i took the class knowing it was hard, i went to all lectures, i actually paid attention, did all the homework by myself first, asked the TAs for anything that i did not understand, etc, etc, etc and I have earned my A.
stop whining and actually work for your class. professor morley is doing what he can without compromising himself in the process. there are worse professors at tech, you have no idea. professor morley's one of the rare professor who is actually on the students' side. but of course, all that does not matter does it. may YOU rot.
Ohh, you know guys, I went to all the lectures and most of the recitations and got higher than class average and still got a C. I don't know where morley's high gpa comes from, because that means the class average has to be a C. Oh well, guess that is how tech bends you over and shows you who is boss.
Going to lecture and going to recitation means nothing if you spend your nights either out partying, drinking, or playinh halo, whatever have you...dont believe that you can wear "going to class" as a merit badge and expect to do well in a class...you get what you put in, it is not the Professor's fault if you go to class and then sleep through it, or if you don't feel like sitting down for a couple of hours each week and actually reviewing your notes and your homework... if you expect to have things handed to you on a silver platter you're at the wrong school...don't blame Professor Morley for your laziness or lack of effort...he rocks...
Ohh you jump to conclusions, I do none of the first three things and all of the studying. Some of us just aren't math gods like you are. But don't worry, I didn't really need the HOPE scholarship, I'm sure Morley will help pay for the rest of my college after he taught such a wonderful class.

Well, i think Morley's class is the closest thing to a joke. You get a good grade but you learn nothing. I didn't go to any lecture or recitation for the last two months of class and did pretty badly in most of the tests. However, i got an A cause i did well on the final. I should be happy that i got an A but well, it was too easy.
You must have learned something to make an A on the final because a lot of people did poorly on it

Could try emailing your TA, he posted what everybody made on these things. I'm certain how well I did on final + extra credit bumped my grade from B to A.
