Apparel:
Intimate apparel, swimwear, activewear, socks?whatever your styling or design requirements, BASF makes the yarns that can help you make your business better!

Whether the category is warp knits or circular knits, hosiery or seamless apparel, laces or narrow elastics, we offer the nylon yarns you need and the technical and marketing expertise to assist you.

Specializing in Comfort Stretch

If you're looking for fabrics with the comfortable hand and sensuous aesthetics demanded by consumers today, look for yarns by BASF. We have a long history of success producing high filament and microdenier yarns, and we assure the superior quality essential for spandex fabrications.

Bright Future for Seamless

The future for seamless knitting looks especially bright at BASF, because we've developed bright luster partially oriented (POY) and flat filament nylon yarns to help you tackle the seamless intimate apparel and swimwear categories.

Filling an obvious gap in the market's seamless yarn offerings, the bright yarns are available in a variety of high filament and microdenier choices, all marketed under the Ultra Touch® and Ultra Micro TouchTM nylon trademarks. You'll also find an expanded complement of semidull POY and semidull and dull flat filament nylon yarns. Selections range from fine denier to mid-denier.

Automotive:
BASF textile yarns are major automotive interior components, evident everywhere from the roof to the floor. For more than 25 model years, our nylon fiber has satisfied Detroit's stringent quality standards and has been the primary yarn choice in headliner cloth for American cars.

BASF nylon automotive carpet yarns are available both natural (dyeable) and solution dyed, giving our customers a choice in their approach to the manufacturing of full-floor automotive carpets, throw mats, and trim. Both are engineered to provide the high cover fiber required in automotive applications.

Superior Quality

Our manufacturing plant is ISO-9002 and QS-9000 certified for all automotive carpet and textile products, so customers can feel completely confident concerning their quality and reliability. In addition, the use of internally supplied BASF nylon chip allows us to control quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensures a continuous raw material supply.

Environmental Advantages

All BASF automotive carpet yarns are nylon 6, which is inherently more recyclable than other types of nylon. Only nylon 6 is closed-loop recyclable, meaning that it can be brought back to virgin fiber. Selection of BASF's solution-dyed yarns eliminates the customer's need for dye labs and dye baths and the environmental issues that accompany them.

Solution-Dyed Benefits

Solution dyed nylon yarns from BASF produce automotive carpets that represent outstanding value and offer superior durability and other high performance features. Recognized for their colorfastness, fade-resistance and stain-resistance, carpets made from these yarns will outperform piece-dyed nylon products.

Color matching to meet the automotive industry's exacting standards becomes the responsibility of BASF with solution dyed nylon. Long considered the industry leader in solution dyed nylon for automotive use, BASF provides in-house, computerized color matching that gives us complete control and assures superb lot-to-lot continuity.

BASF carpet and textile yarns may be found in a growing array of quality-conscious current models. The Jeep® Grand Cherokee pictured in this section, one of the best-selling S.U.V.s in America, features both headliner cloth and carpeting made from BASF yarns.
